It was hard to see the movement outside of the superscript.
Neil does this thing in this work and others where he quotess himself, pulling direct material from previous work. I feel as though I quote myself but not as directly. Maybe a familiar move or two but not entire phrases. More like an inside joke. He's very clear with the superscript, it's an
"I am telling you this directly."
I'm not sure why he's telling us some of it, but he wants us to know this.
I've been inspired by the barenesss of his costumes, even recreating them for a few works. I haven't taken on the beauty in his choreography.
Long limbs stretching outward, curving, less geometry in the paths of the dancers.
